Thank you for the replies I received. Gatlinburg was wonderful, but traveling with a large number of teen-agers on a weekend budget limits your dining out!!! Here are the replies and I greatly appreciate them all.

*Cracker Barrel is very Gf friendly. All the vegetable are Gf except breaded okra. Be sure and try the cooked apples. Great for desert.

*Gatlinburg is a tough place for a celiac. I have had very nice
experiences at the "The Park" restaurant. Not that they knew anything
in advance about celiac or GF, but they paid attention and were very
accommodating. This restaurant is one of the better ones in
Gatlinburg. While the majority cater to the "home style" crowd where
nearly everything is coated with flour and deep fried, The Park has
nice steaks, salads and upper end fare. One other thing we noticed...
all meals in this town are priced around $15-20; you might as well
pick a nice place and enjoy it because the difference in price is
minimal.

The Park is located near the entrance to the the national park, on
the hill to the left, main street, as you head toward the nat'l park.

Note: We did sneak away to The Park...I had a steak, salad, and baked potato...it's a little pricey but a nice atmosphere. They also have a creme' brulee on the dessert list but I was too full to try it. It is made with Jack Daniels so you need to be aware of that.

* You should check out The Gluten/Wheat Free Guide to Eating Out @
www.goodhealthpublishing.com. It has 50 restaurants and their lists of
gluten free menu items. There's a restaurant list as well as a printable
info/order form. It's great for eating out or traveling.

Note: I did give this a look and liked it. I will order it.

* There are some support groups in TN -- maybe there's one near
Gatlinburg?

*I am from that area, many years ago, I live in Charleston, SC now. I just
wanted to warn you about the crowds & traffic in that area any time of year,
on any day of the week.

*I doubt this is much help -- but I went to the Hard Rock cafe there and they
were GREAT about reading my "cheat sheet" from CSA and managed to make GF/CF fajitas for me. (They brought me a bowl of chips to have with it instead of
Tortillas.

Note: Mc Donald's, Wendy's, and Panera bread also have restaurants there. The trip was wonderful and it was a very "do-able" trip for a Celiac.

Thanks again for your help,

Linda
