I just got back from Hawaii and flew United.

WONDERFUL experience with them.

We live in Iowa and flew to Chicago for a non-stop flight to Honolulu. On the way home we flew from Honolulu to Denver to Iowa.

The person at United that I talked to said that I would be having a meal and a snack on the way there and 2 snacks on the way home so she could request the MEAL and would put something on the snack part but couldn't guarantee anything.

I made sure that I had food with me "just in case". Well I didn't need it for the most part.

On the way there the meal was a chicken breast on rice with broccoli--WONDERFUL. The snack was a yellow rice (don't know what they put on it for the flavoring and coloring) with asparagus and a tomato--it was cold since everyone else had a cold sandwich but it was still good and tasty!

The way back for the first snack was a fruit plate and was very good. The second snack didn't work out so well--it was a danish type thing that everyone else got.

I was too tired to even ask if they had something else for me so I don't know if they didn't have something or if they forgot about me (the flight attendants brought me each meal before that without me even asking).

I am definitely going to let United know that I was very pleased with the whole experience and that the next time I fly I will definitely ask for a GF meal/snack since it is possible even for the snack to get something we can have!
