Has anyone have any info about chitin? (pronounced kytin) The dictionary
says it's a horny polysaccharide that forms part of the hard outer
integument od insects and crustaceans.

I am not celiac, but definately cannot consume gluten. I have been gf for 6
months but am still having occasional problems with frequent bowel
movements. I know two people taking chitin and swear by it. One person was
having 6-8 bowel movements a day and is now down to two. Another always
felt like he had to go all the time, and has had all symptoms disappear.
This is only from taking it for one week.

Thay say that from the research they've done, that chitin is good for
digestion problems. When I talked to numerous health food stores, they said
it was for losing weight. And that the way it works is by preventing your
body from digesting fats!!!

Doesn't sound right to me. If anyone has any info about this stuff, please
get in touch with me.

TIA

Ron
