Hi Listmates,

Thank you all of you who responded to my posting. I'll be summarizing
after the weekend. Most of you mentioned hidden glutens not only in foods,
but also in medications and supplements. I realize I neglected telling a
bit of myself... I've been diagnosed about five years ago after a lifetime
history of various symptoms and visits to doctors (I'm in my mid-sixties)
and watching my mother's declining health and wasting physical well-being
due to, what I'm sure of now, undiagnosed celiac. The tragedy of it is she
had the best available doctors that money could provide. I'm sure you all
know this scenario.

Many of you mentioned glutens and other allergens in medications and food
supplements. I am taking no medication whatsoever, not even aspirin. I
checked out all the food supplements for gluten, dairy, soy content. I
have just now stopped drinking wine, as well as other alcoholic beverages.

I also just ceased drinking coffee. I've closed my eyes to nuts. I've cut
down on sugar. I gave up potatoes after reading a recent posting, which
helped quite a bit. Practically all the food I eat is fresh, without
additives or preservatives. I've had a couple of negative stool tests
for ameobae. One member suggested an infection or inflammation and another
mentioned yeast infection, both of which I'll check out with my doctor
when she returns from her vacation on the 28th.

Thanks for listening, I just need to ventilate with those who understand.

I've now reached beyond the frustration level. I'm hoping my MD is as
knowledgeable about celiac as she claims to be, and will approach my
situation with an open mind including prescribing the alternative methods.
