Dear All,

Thank you for your kind responses to my question about lactose in
butter/marg. Two people pointed out that there is only a little lactose in
butter, and it might be tolerable unless very sensitive.

Four people suggested ghee, shich is the fat separated from butter by
heating it in a pan and then skimming off the yellow layer.

Some suggested trying Kosher margerine.

The most common brands of marg suggested were - Fleishman's, Willow Run,
Hain Safflower oil, Spectrum spread.

One person suggested that the problem may be milk protein allergy rather
than lactose intolerance.

Finally, I have found a lactose free marg call 'Pure' which is available in
the UK.

Many thanks and keep well,
Tony UK
