Just a heads up....The promo for Thursday's (Aug. 11) Dr. Oz show on CBS is that they will "debunk the myth about the gluten-free diet." Just from the few second soundbite, I got the impression that it is about using GF to lose weight.

But I hope he remembers to say that GF is medically necessary for millions of people. I cringe when a media personality says anything that diminishes the importance of having GF foods in supermarkets or at public events, anything that implies it is a fad and presumes the fad will pass. I have yet to meet anyone who went GF just to lose weight.

I am not jumping to conclusions. He may present it well. He usually has good information. But it is worth watching to see. Unfortunately, I will not be near a tv on Thursday morning. I will try to catch it online later in the day.

Just my two cents...I do find that often prepackaged GF products often have too much sugar, salt, and white rice and are high glycemic. But so are processed gluten foods. There are healthier options.
