I've also posted this on the Delphi forum, sorry if it's a repeat for you...

Any decent gluten free bread loafs out there for a group of non-CD 2nd
graders?

My daughter is in 2nd grade Catholic CCD and is scheduled to make her First
Communion in May. Her teacher called me yesterday to let me know she's
sending home rolls for the class to take home and break with their families,
and would I please send in a roll for her to take home...no problem (I have
a Gillians in the freezer). Then she asked me if I wouldn't mind making a
bread for the class to share so the class is familiar with the concept of
sharing bread and they'll do it again in 4 weeks.

I was honest and explained that I really didn't think the class would
"enjoy" the GF bread and that it might make Justine feel bad. I can honestly
say I haven't found a bread that your regular Joe, especially a kid without
CD, likes. Can anyone help? The teacher decided by the end of the phone call
that she'd skip the sharing bread idea for tonight but wanted to give me a
heads up that it's in the future lesson, and sharing grape juice as well.
She did suggest that maybe she could cut up a loaf for the class and put
Justine's on the board with the rest of them so she'd know which one to
take, but I'm obviously concerned with cross contamination. But the next
class they take a loaf and pass it around and each child tears off a piece
to eat, that's why she wants the single loaf.

When Justine receives communion in May, we've arranged to have her own
special dedicated chalice, she'll receive the wine, the chalice will be kept
separate and there should be no risk of crumb contamination.

Thanks, in advance, for your advice and support.
Donna in Tyngsborough, MA
