While attending the International Symposium on Celiac Disease sponsored by
The University of Maryland in Baltimore this weekend I viewed the new press
release which promotes celiac awareness. The TV spot featured Rich Gannon
of the Oakland Raiders as our new celiac spokesperson.

When I returned home on Monday Aug 14, my neighbors told me that the spot
aired locally on Sunday August 13, 2000 on prime time news. Our local
newscaster, Karen Abernathy, incorporated the spot into her Healthwatch
segment. She added other comments about the disease which made the spot
even more educational.
