Someone recently asked about milk alternatives that were GF and I
responded but was unsure of one product, Better Than Milk. here is the
response I received from them, regarding my inquiry.

Dear Catherine:

Thank you for your inquiry about the Better Than Milk products. The
Better Than Milk Soy Original is both caseinate-free and gluten-free.
Nothing has been changed at all with the formulation of this product.
The Better Than Milk Soy Vanilla and Soy Light has been reformulated and
although they are caseinate-free, and test gluten-free, they do contain a
type of wheat protein that is extracted with new technology and do not
contain the gluten. In order not to confuse our customers we did not put
gluten-free on the labels containing the wheat protein.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service
Department at 1-800-227-2320, or you may e-mail me directly at

I, for one, would then recommend the flavors not containing the wheat
starch. No matter how good this technology is that separates the starch
from the protein, I still won't gamble. Besides, I usually add vanilla
powder to it anyway, for my son, to cover up the soy taste which he
hates (that's jsut him though, he hates soy). So to whomever I sent
that recommndation, (and the rest of you) here ya go :)
