Thanks to all of you who responded to my question asking if there
was an application for use with Palm Pilots to access a Celiac
database.

The first thing is that there exists MULTIPLE lists, so one obvious
solution is to consolidate this information into one universal list.
I got a couple of emails from people working on databases for the
Palm OS. If you're an unemployed programmer, here's a great way
to spend your time! As for downloading such lists, there are a
couple of ways to do it:

If you are lucky enough to have a wireless Palm Pilot, then you can
download an application that will let you query the Celiac
Database.

First, setup a free account at http://avantgo.com

Try a couple of items like the NYTimes or MSNBC.

Then, create your own custom channel.

You'll link to http://www.geocities.com/HotSpring

One of the problems is that this database is 90 MB - too big for my
palm if you don't have a wireless connection.

If you're still using an older Palm, then you'll have to manually cut
and paste a list into your Memo Pad. A good list is found:
http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/4003/gf-index.html

there is just more work involved because you need to update it
often, but it's great to have something relatively accurate that you
can have on hand at the grocery store.

Other lists to cut and paste is

There are several opportunities here:

1.- The need to establish a single, central, volunteer supported gf
food list for the entire gamut of products. This CAN BE DONE.
However we have multiple national celiac organizations who seem
to be at cross purposes or at least not able to collaborate on a
national scale.

Another piece of advice from a member:

Mobi-pocket. You can use it to download web pages or to read e-
books. I haven't tried this myself yet, as

I'm still saving my pennies for a palm, but this is what my e-authors
lists tell me. (I've got a mystery coming out in Sept. in electronic
format so I'm GOING to find out.) Anyway, long story short, go to
