Hello, Friends.

My question concerns any knowledge anyone has on what to request for surgery.

I had minor surgery on Thursday that required anesthesia (a D&C). I did not receive anything by mouth, but I received a lot intravenously. I felt well following the procedure and through the rest of the day. On Friday, my old symptoms of celiac/Candida began to come back, now in full force. Everything I eat just feels bad, sour, acidy, not digesting. (Sigh, here again.)My upper stomach feels as if I've been punched. I doubled up on my probiotics before the procedure, and now am back to recovery mode with them. Also, I had a cramping foot today, and that only happens when I'm not absorbing nutrition correctly. Can Candida cause malabsorbtion?

I know I received antibiotics intravenously. Are they the cause of this distress? Is there anything else in the anesthesia that causes this reaction? I want to be better prepared for the next time I have to go through something like this. Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks,
CurtissAnn in OK
