Hi All,
The question I asked of the list was if anyone knew if the drug (Sulfamethoxazole-TMP DS tablet was gluten free.
Before I sent this question I did check with the company Qualitist and they would not say the drug was gluten free because they get material from other companies, and the pharmacy I filled it at was not sure either. I also checked the glutenfreedrugs.com. and I could not find it because that is a generic drug and I did not know the brand name was Bactrim which is on that site.
I was  told you can go to EXLIST.COM and thats where I found the answer that the drug is gluten free, the generic name is listed.
I was also told you can contact Steven W. Plogsted, Pharm D. at Columbus Childrens Hospital at [log in to unmask] and asked him med questions and there is no charge.
Let me also add that I ended up being allergic to this drug and now I'm covered with hives and had to get a steriod shot and are now on steriods for 5 days and very sick. I am allergic to sulfer and did not know it.
Thanks for all your help
Dottie
