Individuals interested in using the expenses for gluten free foods as a
tax deduction need to receive all receipts for specialty items.
Additionally, they need to get listings of similiar regular food items
prices. In filing your tax return you must substract the difference from
normal items from specialty items. E.G. Rice bread may cost you $3
Wonder bread may cost $1 your claimable amount is $2. This may be
claimed on your medical expenses. You need to get a letter from your
doctor documentating that you need these specialty items. There is
additionally a specific ruling which I do not have the number handy at
the moment that you need to have handy as a reference.
