NO!!! kosher for Passover does not mean gluten-free. It can in some cases,
but most emphatically you cannot take anything for granted. Passover goods
are mostly made from matzo - akaWHEAT FLOUR and although there ARE kosher for
Passover items which are entirely gluten free you can't use anything which
has matzo flour, matzo, , matzo meal, cake meal listed as an ingredient. You
just have to read the label or make even more diligent enquiries. As a
Jewish Celiac living in New Zealand I know just how hard it is to find GF
stuff for Passover. We can't just pop out to the local store, everything for
Passover is imported from the US or Israel, and it is almost impossible to
cope. So please please be careful. Assume nothing, and if in doubt (or if
the label's in Hebrew!) get someone to translate it!!
