Hi, Austinites. I went to Asti last night at 43rd and Duval and had a fabulous experience. I told the waiter about our disease, and within a few minutes the chef, Emmitt, came out to discuss my menu choices with me. He was very gracious and helped me choose the polenta - instead of penne - with Amartriciana sauce and sauteed spinach. It was delicious. He brought my food out himself and checked later to see if I enjoyed it. They also happily accommodated another person in my party who was vegan. Reasonably priced, with a good wine list and great atmosphere, I am now a huge fan. Check them out. Of course, I've got no pecuniary interest in Asti - I'm just a fan.

Jenny
