To summarize: The Tate's cookies were given to me by a friend who bought them at the Amish market in New York City. I haven't much to summarize except to say that many people thought the cookies sounded yummy and wanted more information on how to buy them. I looked on the internet and found this phone number and address in Southampton. You may want to try it.

Tate's Bake Shop • 43 North Sea Rd. • Southampton NY 11968 • phone 631-283-9830

And, a nice Listserv person sent her favorite GF Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe which she swears is just like the Tate's cookie. She found it on-line. For some reason, I wasn't able to bring it up, but this is the address to use to locate the recipe: http://www.bakespace.com/recipes/detail/Gluten-Free-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies/14308/.

Thank you for all your responses. It has been fun to share.
