The other day I wrote asking if anybody could recommend a good commercial
bread to buy online to use for Thanksgiving stuffing and sandwiches. I
received 39 responses, and I want to thank each of you for taking the time to
write. Here are the results:

A few people wrote to say there basically is "no substitute for the real
thing". "A good G/F bread, that's an oxymoron!" Well, we have to make do,
don't we! Several people said that the homemade breads were still the best.
Of the commercially available varieties, 3 people felt that the millet bread
from Deland bakery was so far superior to all others that nothing else can
compare. Unfortunately, they require a minimum order of 12 loaves. I called
my local health food store and they are looking into placing an order for me.

Otherwise, 13 people rated Kinnikinnick the best, followed closely by 10
votes for Glutino. A few mentioned Gluten Free Pantry, Ener-G, and Gillian's
Foods. At least half thought cornbread makes the best stuffing. Several
mentioned making a non-bread based stuffing, such as one made from rice.

My stuffing is always made with lots of other stuff, such as onions, celery,
sausage, apples, raisins, chestnuts, walnuts, so the bread does not have to
carry it alone. I hope everyone has a wonderful, healthy, and delicious
Thanksgiving!
