Recently I had a cat bite that got infected.  I was shocked when I saw red lines going up my hand and arm.  A trip to the ER was necessary.  I was put on IV  antibiotics + pill form.; After a while I was released.

Before I even got home I was hit by a reaction to the meds.  Next day it was worse - back to ER and a different  antibiotic.  Still had reaction, but suffered through with upset stomach and diarrhea until I took t

all the antibiotics.  No one in the ER seemed concerned when I told them I had Celiac disease.  That said, my question is:  what type of antibiotic is safe for a Celiac?  What was your experience in taking antibiotics?

I do realize most do cause stomach problems . I no longer have my cat, she was 15 years old, and rather than put her in isolation, I had be put down.

Thanks,

Helen
