A few more items about hearburn relief that have come in:
----------------------------
When I posted some months ago about desperate to get rid of reflux and
heartburn, most people suggested the specific carbohydrate diet, which has
made a big improvement for our daughter.

Other things which help are --
drinking 1/4 cup of purified aloe vera juice
using DDS+ acidophilus
using Culturelle enteric acidophilus
capsules of licorice (be careful to limit it or get the de-glyzerrized type
because it can raise blood pressure)
keep bowels up to date, not constipated
raw coconut (for the fat)
charcoal capsules if nothing else works but don't' take it close to a Rx
item or vitamin as it will bind it (my dau. says "if ou can keep the acid
down, soak it up")
sleeping in a recliner (this works for me too)
weight loss minimizes upward pressure on the stomach (my problem)
reduce caffeine can help me
if you are in real distress, drink some seltzer water and it will bring up
the 'burp' and give relief.
These are a few things that have helped us.

------------------------
I have found that aloe vera juice helps relieve heartburn. I take a small
shot glass twice a day.

I very helpful book (I usually don't buy books opting for borrowing from the
local public library, but this one is a keeper so I bought it) I recently
discovered on stomach care is:
