There was a question regarding Oat matzoh for
Passover. Yes! There is such a thing. Last year I
contacted a lady in Baltimore who had the matzo. I
don't remember the address or telephone number. I
also contacted the store in the Detroit area who
handles kosher foods. They said that they had some
the prior year, but not the year of 1999. The person
who makes the matzo is from England. The story goes
that a rabbi, about 18 yeas ago, had a child who was
celiac. They bought a field where they grow only
oats. Nothing else. The oats has been checked in
many labs and found not to have any of the bad
contaminants. It is good! It can be used for
Passover and can be used any other time of the year.
The address in Engleand is Rabbi Ephraim Kestenbaum,.
22 Eagle Lodge, Golders Green, London NW 11 SBD Tel
#0181 455 9476 or FAX 0181 455 3212. The lady in
Baltimore is on the web, so maybe she will pick up on
this. It is expensive to ship. Possibly if enough
people in your area push the distributor(?) it can be
purchased in your town. They had it in the Chicago
area, also.
