Thanks to all who wrote in regard to the fosamax. Here's the short of
it.....

19 people said they take fosamax with no problems (most take the weekly
form)

15 people quit taking it due to the following problems:

1 constipation
4 bone and/or joint pain
4 esophagus, acid reflux and/or heartburn symptoms
6 gastro symptoms

8 people now take Actonel with no problems.

4 people said their doctors prescribed something else because fosamax is
known for causing gastro problems.

2 people said they never had celiac gastro symptoms until they started
taking fosamax.

2 people said they gained 50% of bone loss back after taking fosamax in a
little more than a years time.

Most said it helped gain or they hadn't had any more loss after starting on
either fosamax or actonel.

1 person had reactions to both Fosamax and Actonel.

1 person is now trying Aridia which has to be infused directly into the
blood stream.

1 person uses Twin Lab's Triborn Plus, a cal/mag supplement with boron and
vit D.

A few tips and comments:

Take fosamax on an empty stomach, drink 8 to 10 ounces of water. Do not lay
down or bend over for 30 to 60 minutes. (This is to avoid acid reflux).

-----------

My doc said that many people have trouble with the once a week dose, but can
tolerate the daily dose.

-----------

My pharmacist told me this one...take one of the pills, break it and/or
crush it and place it on the crook of your arm, covering with a damp gauze.
Leave it on for an hour. When you remove it, check skin carefully...any red
welts, itchiness etc indicates that your system cannot tolerate it.
