Here are the results of my BEER survey.

A total of 37 celiacs responded.
24-agreed that beer should not be used by celiacs. Many explained that
they used to drink beer and had to stop because it eventually brought
back symptoms. (1) had to undergo an operation to remove damaged
intestine.
5- wanted to be informed if anyone knew of any gf beers on the market
2- said they have access to gf beer (Switzerland and Sweden) but no
proof from company
2- drink Woodchuck brand and think it is gf but no proof by company
1- said Italy would be coming out with a gf beer in May or June of 2000
1- drinks cider beer (Woodpecker brand) with no proof from company
2- think there is so little gluten in beer that it may be ok to
continue drinking it

Judging from the response there is an overwhelming desire to see a good
gf beer come to market. The question is when.

Listed below is a website of a man who is trying to make a gf beer in
the US. He is getting closer with each experiment.

You can follow his progress.

God Bless you,
Donna,
