A few weeks ago the listowners sent a message to all the US list
subscribers about a new study being conducted to determine the
prevalence of CD in the USA.  This message is available as a reference
file on the list, so anyone else who wants to read it can get it by
sending a message to [log in to unmask] containing this
line:

The fundraisers have provided these details on the kickoff meeting:

The following is the program of speakers and topics for the Saturday,
May 10 Kick-Off at the University Of Maryland, College Park, Maryland
Campus; from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM:

Michael Marsh, M.D., Professor of Medicine, University of Manchester,
Selford, England.  Internationally recognized author of medical text
books pertaining to Celiac Disease.  His topic will be "Celiac Disease;
the approach to the millennium."

Joseph Murray, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine, University Of
Iowa.  Trained in Ireland, he is one of the leading experts on Celiac
Disease in Adults in the United States.  His topic will be "The
epidemiology of CD in Europe before the advent of screening studies."

Carlo Catassi, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of
Ancona in Italy.  Responsible for the initial epidemiological studies
in Europe.  His topic will be "The impact of screening studies on the
prevalence of CD in European countries."

Alessio Fasano, M.D., Professor of Pediatrics & Medicine, Director of
Pediatric GI & Nutrition, University of Maryland.  Trained in Italy, he
is now one of the leading experts on Celiac Disease in children in the
United States.  His topic will be "Current data on the epidemiology of
CD in the U.S.

Karoly Horvath, M.D., Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Director
Pediatric GI & Nutrition Laboratory, University Of Maryland.  Trained
in Hungary, he is well known for his expertise in Celiac Disease.  His
topic is the "Study design of the proposed multicenter epidemiological
survey on the prevalence of CD in the U.S."

We hope you are going to attend this exciting program and take the
opportunity to hear and question some of the world's leading Celiac
disease experts.

In the original e-mail letter sent on April 15th, we used the example
"One-thousand (1000) of us contributing only $600 - $200 per year, for
three (3) years, will fund the study."   This was an EXAMPLE!  Your
contribution will be appreciated, be it larger or smaller than the $600
example.

Please make your reservations and pledges as soon as you can.
