Patient Education Day is a symposium by experts for patients and interested
medical practitioners.

Last year's Patient Education Day was attended by over 500 people!

Topics this year include:
Celiac Disease 2003 Update, Potential Therapies, Autoimmune Connection,
Pediatric Celiac Disease, Neurological Problems in CD, Osteoporosis, Dermatitis
Herpetiformis, Update on the Gluten-Free Diet, Coping Strategies, Task Force -
Food Labeling Laws.

Speakers include:
Peter Green, MD (Columbia University), Bana Jabri, MD, PhD (University of
Chicago), John Zone, MD (University of Utah), Elizabeth Shane, MD (Columbia
University), Norman Latov, MD, PhD (Cornell University), Bruce Roseman, MD (New
York Medical College), Amy R. DeFelice, MD (Columbia University), Joseph Levy, MD
(Columbia University), Carol Semrad, MD (University of Chicago), Andrea
Levario, JD (American Celiac Task Force), Danna Korn (Founder of R.O.C.K. and

The registration fee online is $50 per person, paid by credit card.
Registration sent by mail with a check is $55 per person.  Look for a post to this
Listserve soon with a link for online registration as well as a registration form
that can be printed and mailed.  The registration fee includes the academic
presentations, continental breakfast, refreshments and lunch.  Vendors of
gluten-free food will also be present.  Reduced rate parking for $7.50 for the day
is available at the hospital parking garage on 165th Street and Ft. Washington
Ave. You will receive the parking discount coupon when you arrive at Alumni
Auditorium.

Pre-registration by November 1st is required.

For those of you not familiar with New York City, New York-Presbyterian
Medical Center (Columbia-Presbyterian) is located very near the George Washington
Bridge. Driving there is easy, as the campus is just a few block from Route 9A
(Henry Hudson Parkway).  Travel directions will be included on the link for
online registration.

Here are a few suggestions for reasonably priced hotels located just over the
George Washington Bridge in New Jersey:

At the Radisson, there is a shuttle to New York-Presbyterian Medical Center,
