Tyler Florence on the Food Netweork did a green bean casserole and it was very easy...I took it a step further

Lightly grease a 9x13 pan

In a frying pan lightly saute about a cup of mushrooms...I used dried Polish porcini mushrooms and thru mushrooms and liquid into pan. When hot add enough heavy cream to cover the bottom of pan about a half inch. Add salt and pepper and pinch of nutmeg. Cook about 3 min

Add small pkg of frozen green beans and cook over medium heat until heated thru

Place in baking dish and top with slices of your favorite cheese. I used Swiss..Bake at 350 for about 15 min.

You do not need cream of mushroom soup...just heat mushrooms in heavy cream until thickened...add salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg

enjoy
