Wow! I got a huge bank of responses to my migraine
question. Surprisingly, the answers were all very
similar. I got some great info on possible triggers
and avoidance techniques, and also suggestions for
dealing with a migraine attack. Thank you all so
much. I now have a lot to work with in figuring out
my headaches! Here's the summary:

Possible coping techniques: A few said coffee may
help alleviate, many recommended acupuncture, massuese
and chiropractic treatments (especially contact reflex
analysis-CRA), also mentioned was a flaxseed pillow
w/peppermint and lavender.

The most common migraine cause possibilities:

HORMONES (this is for women...) Often trigger migraines.

Especially near menopause, menses, when on hormone
replacement therapy, or if you have a substandard
amount of progesterone. Fixed by: doing a diary to
figure out your (migraine) cycle and then takeing meds
when you are prone to headache, try a 100% natural
progesterone cream.

NON-GLUTEN FOOD REACTIONS may be a cause. Try getting
a RAST/ CAP-RAST allergy test. Listed by most
common:

1.Dairy. especially cheese and casein.
2.Caffeiene/Chocolate. Coffee may also help, though.
3.Citrus. Oranges, orange juice, and tomatoes.
4.Red Wine.
5.MSG
6.Soy
7.Sugar
8.Pork
9.Green Beans
10.Single answers: French onion soup, german sausage,
   amines/food chemicals

HIDDEN GLUTEN was another big possibility. Especially
in medications. Some med suggestions were: 1/2 or 1
baby (bayer) aspirin daily, Excedrin, Tylenol, Exedrin
Migraine, Fiorinal, Atenolol, Magnesium and vit B
supplements, Verapamil (for calcium channel blockage,
and BP reduction).

OTHER POSSIBILITIES. Blood Sugar imbalance,
inefficient sleep schedule, not enough exercise (try
at least walking daily), man-made fragrances/ chemical
sensitivity, gout/ malabsorption, stress, sensitivity
to faux lighting, and weather/ barometric pressure.
