I hope someone on the list can help me. I am a 33 year old female. I was
just diagnosed in November 2003. Before that, my symptoms were pain in
my right side, chest pain, acid reflux, and fatigue. My doctor put me on
Protonix for the acid reflux and I felt better for about a month. My symptoms
came back so they did a gall bladder scan and found out my gall bladder
has a low ejection rate. The doctor is not convinced my pain is from my
gall bladder because fatty foods do not make the pain worse (I do not have
typical gall bladder symptoms other than where the pain is located). Then,
they did an upper endoscopy looking for an ulcer and did a biopsy at the
same time. That's when they told me I had CD...although she said they caught
it very early. BTW, all of the blood tests came back negative for CD. I
did have a positive aNa, so they did more bloodwork and discovered my anti-thyroid
antibodies were very high (over 3000) although all of the thyroid function
tests are normal. I went on the GF diet and felt better...again for about
a month, then my symptoms came back. My gastroenterologist then ordered
a video capsule study to get a look at my entire bowel...I get those results
next week. I have been on a gluten challenge for a little over a month.
I felt much better until last week, then my symptoms came back again...pain
in my right side, chest pain, fatigue. The doctor also said I have a very
soft heart murmur, but they think it is "innocent blood flow" making a whooshing
sound. Just in case, I have an echo next week. Basically, everytime the
doctor gives me a medication or changes my diet (either GF or non-GF) my
symptoms go away for about a month then everything comes back. I am extremely
frustrated because I keep getting referred to other doctors who run more
tests and I still don't know anything. This has been going on for almost
2 years. Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ci-Ci
