There is no specific treatment for leaky gut. Companies like Nuvelo
( http://nuvelo.com ) are developing drugs (NU206) to promote
intestinal growth and regeneration. Vitamin D has been recently
demonstrated to play a key role in intestinal mucosal barrier
maintenance and healing. Start with vitamin D. Naturopathic remedies
also exist. Probiotics can help to crowd out mucosal colonization by
harmful bacteria which, when their toxic effects are reduced or
eliminated, may also help the gut to heal. Betaine HCl and digestive
enzymes for hypochlorhydria can also help.
