I PUSHED THE SEND BUTTON IN ERROR! (sorry)

Just to clarify my situation... I was never thin(size 12), even before I
was gf. Even then I always wanted to loss some weight but never tried
too hard. When I was first diagnosed I paniced because of horror stories
that I would be really skinny, sickly and frail. I said I will never
complain about my weight again and just be glad that I can find something to
eat. Well you know what they say, "Be careful what you ask for." and "Never
say
never."

I had many many responses and the definate conclusion is that my body has
to adjust to being healthy and now being able to absorb nutrients, calories,
etc. It should get used to it and weight gain taper off. (this happens to
many celiacs as our intestines become healed) Many suggested to cut back on
my eating and excerise more. I do and I will!!!! Apparently rice bread is
loaded with calories vs wheat bread. I also eat fruit with rice/popcorn
cakes for breakfast (what else is there). This is tough for me with the
limits of gluten free. How do we stay away from rice and potatoes??? I had
a medical appointment with a gland specialist and ran various tests and meet
with a dietitician next week to learn how and what to eat. I need
recommendations. I will post some ideas I get from the dietitician. Paxil
and Zoloft are apparently possibilities for partial blame. Several
suggested (including my Dr.) to just be thankful that I feel better and
except me the way I am and my body was probably meant to be this size. I
said ok I'll just wear a sign on my back saying, "I'm celiac, I'm healthy,
so it's ok to be fat." Ha Ha.

Thanks to the hundred some responses and all the great humor and support. I
have learned sooooo much from this list and will continue to learn. If
anyone has suggestion to what they have for lunch or cook for meals, I am
willing to listen. Or bread that isn't so fattening. Maybe even a gf diet
bar to lose weight, ie, slim fast.
