GLUTEN-FREE COOKIE EXCHANGE

There will be a gluten-free cookie exchange for the kids. Families
should bring 2 dozen or 1-2 boxes of store-bought gluten-free cookies to
share with the group. (If you bring homemade gluten free cookies, please
bring at least 20 copies of the recipe). The kids will choose their
cookies and fill up “goodie bags” with their favorites. Even Santa will
be impressed with our selection of cookies!! Additionally, there will be
some gluten-free Hanukkah gelt (chocolate coins) to share.

SILENT AUCTION

We are currently seeking donations for our silent auction which will be
held during the social. We will be thrilled to accept any donations such
as gift cards, gift baskets, toys, homemade or handmade crafts, gluten
free foods, retail merchandise, cookbooks, new DVD’s or CD’s, games,
movie tickets, etc. The possibilities are endless and the items can be
geared toward adults or children. However, the parents will be the ones
participating in this very informal silent auction. If you would like to
donate an item, please contact Melonie Katz at (703) 445-8306 or via
email at [log in to unmask] by December 2nd. So, start saving your
change and those spare dollars!!

A SURPRISE…

I have a very special gift for every gluten-free child who attends in
December. I wonder what it may be????

WANTED: “UNWANTED GLUTEN-FREE FOODS”

Lastly, as you are getting ready for the busy holidays, please take some
time to clear out any unwanted GF food items that you may have at home.
Bring them to the meeting and we’ll put them in a “treasure box” for
everyone to peruse. You never know, one GF mix or item that wasn’t a hit
in your house, may be a hit in someone else’s house.

· If you know of any newly diagnosed Celiac children, please pass along
our group information to the parents. Our group is growing and we want
to make sure we are doing our best to reach families who may be out
there.

· We would also be thrilled if there are any available gluten-free elves
out there who would like to help distribute ROCK fliers to your local
health food stores, doctor’s offices, schools, hospitals, libraries,
grocery stores, etc. It’s as simple as sending you an email with the
attachment and you can print them from home, or I can mail you some hard
copies.

· I hope everyone has a ROCK’n gluten-free Thanksgiving. As for our
family, we are truly grateful for the wonderful health the gluten-free
diet bestowed upon us. Remember to celebrate your holidays with a
bountiful cornucopia of gluten-free “flours.” ~Melonie Katz
