Regarding the on-going "debate" (discussion?).... I agree that we are asking
for people's experience and information....but we are not necessarily asking
for their opinions (!).

When I respond to others I try to be very clear about where i got my
info....from a doctor? from reading? is it my firsthand experience? Is it
a guess, educated or otherwise? I also try to avoid telling someone what to
do (except in those cases where people specifically ask, "what should I
do")....everybody needs to weigh the info they gather and make their own
choices.

Unfortunately, I have not received the same consideration and respect. I
have had responses phrased as "fact" without any credible evidence....when I
inquired whether this person could support what they had told me, the
response was just plain hostile. (I am technologically challenged, so I
endured many rude messages from one party before I figured out how to block
this person from my e-mail).

I think we need to treat each other with respect and politeness. We turn to
each other for information and support. Many of us are confused and in
crisis. This is not a place for bullies.

Take care, Lynn
