Yes, yes, yes! I discovered that I had a gluten intolerance ten years
ago, and I began to eliminate gluten from my diet. Whenever I would
test myself by eating gluten, the response was always the same. A day
or so of diarrhea followed by a pain in the very lowest part of my back
which would last for about 24 hours and be so severe that I couldn't
stand up straight. I used to blame it on the mattress, but I soon
learned better.

I've been virtually glutenfree for 9-10 years now. If I inadvertantly
eat gluten, the pain isnt as horrible as it used to be but it is still
noticeable to me. I ascribe this to the fact that disorders of the
organs within the abdomen are known to refer the pain to the abdominal
wall. Perhaps a knowledgeable physiologist out there might shed more
light on this phenomenon.
