ALLERGY ALERT - UNDECLARED GLUTEN IN PAMELA'S BRAND OF "WHEAT FREE AND
GLUTEN FREE" COOKIES OTTAWA, August 22, 2001 - The Canadian Food
Inspection Agency is advising consumers with sensitivities to gluten not
to consume Pamela's brand "Wheat Free & Gluten Free" cookies. These
products may contain varying amounts of gluten that is not declared on
the label.

This alert is of particular concern to those individuals who suffer adverse
reactions to the specific proteins (gluten) of wheat, rye, barley, oats and
triticale.

Pamela's brand cookies are manufactured by Pamela's Products, Inc. in San
Francisco, California. The cookies are distributed nationally in a 150 g
package. All date codes of the products listed below are affected by this
recall.
