Hi Listmates,

We have just returned from a cruise on the Crystal Symphony. The cruise went
from Venice to Barcelona. What a wonderful experience. Crystal really took
care of us.

We chose Crystal because they have a great reputation for catering to special
diets. A few months before the cruise I contacted the company to discuss our
GF needs. They informed me that they stock the kitchen with GF products and
have a special chef who is in charge of cooking our food. When I inquired
about the way they cook the pasta (i.e. a separate pot) she was a little
unsure so she called the ship and spoke with the chef! Yes the do cook
everything in a separate area for GF foods.

The cuisine was terrific. Every day the head water would give us the menu
for the next day's lunch and dinner. We would select the items we wanted and
they would prepare everything GF. They didn't slip once!

Every day we had fresh baked popovers for lunch and dinner and they would
also serve special cookies at the end of the meal. Some menu items that we
enjoyed were:

Pasta Bolognese
Moussaka
Lobster
Orange chicken
Duck
Corn and crab chowder
Enchiladas
Veal medallions over pasta
Prime Rib
Apple pie
Buttercream torte
Chocolate torte
Parfaits

It was a truly wonderful experience. We highly recommend it for fine GF
dining.

Jo
