In the most recent issue of LIFELINE---the CSA newsletter---in the RESOURCES
section is an article---"CSA MEETS WITH UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA
PROFESSORS"---the third sentence in the fifth paragraph reads-"Third party
gluten free labeling such as the CSA Recognition Seal at less than 5ppm,
validates a gluten-free claim"-this sentence follows immediately after the
previous two sentences discussing possible anaphylactic reactions to wheat
BUT that sentence should not be interpreted to indicate that a GLUTEN -FREE
label absolutely and in all cases denotes completely WHEAT-FREE or is a
safeguard against a possible allergic reaction to wheat as other wheat
proteins besides gluten can cause allergic reactions-- so even if labeled
gluten free the label should still ALSO be checked for the presence of wheat
for the wheat allergic person
