Hypochlorhydria, low stomach acid, is extremely common, especially if
you are over age 40, yet there seems to be little public awareness of
this condition. The effects of hypochlorhydria are numerous and
mimic many of those symptoms associated with celiac disease,
including malabsorption, IBS and multiple food allergies. Some
consequences can be serious. In fact, "leaky gut" may be the result
of hypochlorhydria. It can be treated with a readily available
supplement, betaine hydrochloride (HCL), plus digestive enzymes and
other supplements as needed. If celiac disease hit you as you
approached age 40 and you also suffer from multiple food allergies,
consider, and do not ignore, the very likely possibility that you
have hypochlorhydria. Educate yourself with these links: (Note: some
