I all.

I'm hoping someone may be able to help.

I was diagnosed by biopsy in March '97. I was doing fine ona gluten free
diet until about mid July. Since then many of the original CD symptoms have
returned with a vengeance plus a few new symptoms. First, I was extremely
nauseous and had terrible upper abdominal pain. My doctor assumed it was a
classic gall bladder case. All tests showed otherwise. Meanwhile, I was
becoming extremely dizzy and lightheaded. The pain continued to increase. I
also have alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhea. Also, activity
exacerbates the pain. Due to the fact that I could not guarantee two good
days in a row and my work is so high stress, my company, my doctor and I
decided I should go on medical leave. That was SEVEN WEEKS ago!!!

There continues to be sharp pains in my upper abdomen, primarily after I
ingest anything. I also have a constant dull pain in my lower right abdomen.
Tests have shown that my small intestine is slightly swollen in the lower
right quadrant.

I have restricted my diet to baked potatoes, iced tea and sustacal. (plus a
couple of pieces of chocolate every now and then) If I eat anything else,
the nausea returns. I have lost quite a bit of weight and am now terribly
thin.

If anyone has experienced anything like this during their initial recovery, I
would really appreciate hearing about it. My doctors are stumped, and I am
headed to new specialists in Indianapolis next week.

Thanks to all for listening.
