I received dozens of answers to my queries about tTG, Yoplait yogurt, and Ghiradelli chocolate.

Here is a summary of what responders said:

tTG: About 30% of you said that a biopsy is always necessary (i.e., it is the gold standard and is therefore the only reliable indicator for a CD diagnosis). The remainder of you said that a high tTG is adequate for diagnosis if there is perceived improvement after being on the GF diet.

Yogurt: My question was whether Yoplait is GF or not. A few people said that because General Mills specifically labels gluten on their products, simply reading the label is the best thing to do for each individual product. One responder provided a list of gluten-free yogurt products that he had purchased at a conference in Denver in May, which included Stoneybrook, all Yoplait products, Colombo, and Coldstone.

Ghiradelli chocolate: no specific info on this particular brand. One person said that Newman's Own dark chocolate is GF. Another responder stated that Godiva is NOT GF.

Thank you again for your answers!
