My cardiologist ordered me to take 81 mg. of coated aspirin with the intent of
thinning my blood. I have just been removed from coumadin, a prescription
blood-thinning drug.

I purchased Goldline's Entric Aspirin, Adult Low Strength, 81 mg.

I contacted Zenith-Goldline Pharmaceuticals who in turn got in touch with the
manufacturer (name ungiven) of this product.

They reported today via FAX:

"They (the manufacturer) informed me there are no starches in this product,
which means they would be either from corn or wheat base. However, the talc
(an ingredient) can be from either corn or wheat base and would be "trace"
amounts. The croscarmellose sodium (another ingredient) is carmelized cross
linked sugar/sodium salt. The sugar "may" come from corn. There again trace
amounts. They advise, if you have such an intolerance to gluten (celiac
sprue) you probably should not use this product."

I've been on this aspirin for two days now. I'm experiencing some
reaction-like symptoms. I'm not sure if its from this product or from
someting I ate last nite at a friend's home who had been very careful in her
menu-planning.

I want to know from you folks if you know of any coated aspirin of 81 mg that
is GF, and if so, what's the brand name?

I need to take this product to avoid a recurrence of a blood clot which caused
my heart attack last January. Once I hear from you that there is another
brand of aspirin or alternate that's GF, I'd be very happy!

I would appreciate having this info before Saturday when I'd be leaving town
for a bit over two weeks.
