I'm hoping someone has some possible advice. My daughter is 13 months old.
I have CD and thus we did not give Riley anything containing gluten until
she was 1. About 4 weeks ago, I gave her some Cheerios. She had no
problems for 5 days then had diarrhea for 2 days. I stopped giving her
Cheerios. She had normal diapers for about a week. Then the diarrhea
began again and is now on its 11th day. To the best of my knowledge, she's
had no gluten since the Cheerios. The pediatrician put her on a diet of
rice, jell-o, bananas, and rice bread which did nothing to slow it down.
The next step is testing of stool samples. Riley is not unhappy and not
running a fever nor is she dehydrated. I don't think it's a celiac response
since it's been so long since the last gluten ingestion and it is taking so
long to clear up. My experience of gluten ingestion is that the reaction
occurs fairly quickly (within about 24 hours and doesn't last more that a
few days) The doctor didn't think it was celiac either, but I'm not sure
how much experience she has with it. So, I'm wondering if anyone has
experienced a reaction like this.

Thanks,
Krista
