Well…as you can see the responses (total of 14 are split! Personally, I
think I will go the all-natural way…since the last thing I need is to
develop some lung cancer or some other problem because of harmful
chemicals!

50% - have had some negative reactions, avoid them all together and/or use
all natural alternatives (suggestions below).

50% - don’t have a problem with them or think they cannot cause celiac
related problems because something must be ingested (thus probably allergy
related – note: a web-search supports allergy related affects).

Professional Reference: Dr. John Zone spoke at the Celiac Disease
Conference in November. He is a Dermatologist who specializes in treating
DH, another form of Celiac Disease. He spoke of the many times people ask
him about shampoos, make-up, lotions, etc., etc., and he said that
anything, unless it is ingested, cannot hurt your intestines. That goes
for household products etc. It must get to your gut before it can harm
you. He is from The University of Utah.

Natural Alternatives:

[1] Place dried herbs and spices in an open bowl. Sage, rosemary, cinnamon,
cloves etc. are wonderful by themselves or in combination. Likewise, you
can stuff a tangerine, apple or lemon with whole cloves. When dried, roll
in cinnamon and leave out on a table.

[2] You can take any of the spices {e.g., cinnamon} or flavorings {vanilla,
orange oil etc}, place in a pot with some water and let simmer on your
stove. Very soon your whole house will smell WONDERFUL for little money
and no chemicals!

[3] Get a metal or clay ring that fits on top of a light bulb. You pour
essential oils into the depression. As the bulb goes it, it heats up the
oil and disperses it into room....I particularly like the lavender. You
only need a drop or two a day. You can get them in new age stores, bed
bath and beyond, and some health food stores. Just make sure you get good
quality oils....they are just oil with essential oils...not chemicals and
alcohol which is what you get in fresheners.

[4] I put vinegar in a spray bottle and spray in the bathroom and vinegar
in a cup on my stove, by my plants , and in the bathroom keeps all the
rooms smelling great.

P.S. A general web-search indicated consumer complaints regarding these
units burning (hence a fire hazard).

P.S.S. I emailed the company on both topics – no response!

P.S.S.S. Have a Great Healthy Day!!!
