Since the issue of spices was raised recently, and since I am in the process
of replacing the bulk spices in my 60+ spice rack :-(, thought I'd report on a
few sources other than McCormick.

1) Watkins is very proud of their pure spices, and are very aware of gluten
issues. A list of their GF products can be found at (sorry this didn't all
fit on one line):

http://www.mosdesign.com/my-cgi-bin/order.watkins.cgi?client=14065&page=diet.ht
ml&newpage=diet2.html

And the list of their products with dairy is:

ml&newpage=diet4.html

These can be purchased online in several places. I get mine from Karen's
Kitchen at

http://www.karenskitchen.com/

Although this isn't a GF site, Karen caters to people on the Zone diet, which,
except for oatl, tends to be low in gluten. Karen is fairly knowledgeable
(and rapidly growing more so) about issues around gluten.

2) This was from the archives, but I didn't find it right away since it was
not under "spices", so I thought I'd remind you that Paul Prudhomme's Magic
Seasonings are GF, as they grind their own spices and there is no flour in the
place for any reason.

3) Although not a spice company, Trader Joe's Curry and Masala sauces are GF,
along with their Dried Tomato Seasoning Splash (which I like). Their special
diet pages, including GF lists are linked from:

http://www.traderjoes.com/tj/products/

4) For my birthday, I have asked for a very cooling-looking thing I saw in a
catalog. It is a carosel of 8 mini spice grinders. They hang from a
revolving rack. I think it would be very cool to be able to grind spices on
demand without having to wash the grinder each and every time, etc. If anyone
has experience with this product, please let me know!

The catalog is Chef's catalog, the grinder set ise 29.99, and you can get the
catalog by calling 1-800-338-3232

I have no relation to any of these companies.
