After having gone through a colonostomy, an upper GI and a blood test for
sprue I was told that my blood test showed over twice the normal amount of
antibodies. Went on gf diet and had a biopsy of the small intestine. I
called the nurse and really didn't get a strait answer. Went in to talk with
the doctor. He told me about the blood test. He said that apparently my
intestines were handling this very well for the biopsy showed that. However,
he said that was only a very small part of my intestine. He says I don't
have a full blown case of celiac disease. I don't have to watch small
aditives like in ketchup but not to eat bread ect. Also said it wouldn't
hurt to have the occasional piece of birthday cake or pizza.

I thought there was no "light" case of celiac. I read the article. I get
another blood test the first of September.

What do you make of this? Thanks in advance!
