On my web page there is an entry pointing to Dr. Kagnoff's web page. You
will find some discussion of his celiac research below. Not sure how much
clinical practice he has these days, but a call to his office would answer
that. Don Wiss.

Degree: M.D., Harvard University
Title: Professor of Medicine

Keywords: Immunology; Lymphocytes; Molecular Biology

Research: My laboratory is involved in molecular immunologic studies
relating to: 1) the regulation of cytokine expression during intestinal
infection and inflammation. These studies involve a multidisciplinary and
broad array of molecular and cellular immunologic approaches; 2) the
structure and regulation of expression of HLA class II genes; 3) the
molecular pathogenesis of human celiac disease; and 4) the regulation of
expression of the IgA class of immunoglobulins. The ultimate goals of our
studies are focused on: 1) the better design of approaches to mucosal
immunization; 2) greater understanding of the role of immunogenetic
mechanisms in intestinal diseases; and 3) greater understanding of
strategies to manipulate and prevent inflammatory diseases of the intestine.
