GLUTEN SENSITIVE SUPPORT GROUP
Saturday, July 8, 2006
10:00 AM
Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, GA, in the Education Center

"Restoring Health, Reclaiming Lives"
Speaker: Jocelyn Robbins, National Foundation for Celiac Awareness

Jocelyn will be speaking to our support group about NFCA, its mission and
vision. Specifically, she will speak about the NFCA National Consumer
Awareness Campaign aimed at increasing the rate of a prompt and correct
diagnosis of
celiac disease. This will include profile of the goals of the campaign and
the target audience. The updated statistics about the rate of diagnosis of
celiac disease today and the cost of undiagnosed celiac disease gives added
urgency to this campaign.

Jocelyn and one of her children both have celiac disease so, by way of
introduction, she will share their story and how it led to her becoming
active in
work to help others with this disease.

She will review some of the basics about celiac disease including the
basics
of a gluten-free diet. Jocelyn is well versed in issues relating to
gluten-free foods and products on the market and can pass along tips about
what to
look for. This discussion will include a brief review of the new Food
Labeling Law. There will be a Q & A session following her presentation.

If you would like to stay for a cold salad lunch, bring your favorite
salad,
crackers or cookies. Don't forget to bring along at least one copy of the
recipe or the ingredient list. Drinks, paper products and plastic utensils
will be provided by GSSG.

Directions to Gwinnett Medical Center can be found on the website.
