Some people are finding out that soy foods are not the health foods we
thought. I loved many soy products, tofu, soy milk, edamame, etc. and
consumed as much as possible. I was always a little overweight while
eating a high soy diet, my face broke out quite often and my back, neck
, and shoulders were always bothering me. I have found that a diet heavy
in soy has left me with a soy intolerance and Hypothyroidism. Once I
removed soy from my diet, I lost weight, my skin cleared up and my back
pain disappeared! My husband who is not gluten intolerant also seems to
have reactions to some soy foods. (Garden Burgers, Tofutti, etc.) Many
Celiacs can develop a soy intolerance as well. People with Rheumatoid
Arthritis are usually advised by their doctors to avoid many foods
including soy. It is true, some people will never have problems
associated to soy foods. It is also true that many smokers will never
develop lung disease, but some second-hand-smokers will. It's a crazy
world.

There is a website called "the Dangers of Soy" and are others that are
similar. There seem to be several people who have experienced serious
problems from consuming too much soy. The soy industry has really been
pushing the consumption of soy foods onto the general public. They have
been touting it as a health wonder and pushing it mainly at women. Some
of these women who have been consuming a high soy diet had to have their
Thyroid removed! It is also used extensively in massed produced foods
and is highly processed and can have pesticide residues, etc. I would
recommend limiting soy foods to all natural organic products and only
eating them occasionally if they do not otherwise bother you.

Use your best judgement, it is always good to be informed.
