I was diagnosed with CD 5 years ago via an endoscopy at Stanford. I have
tried to stay on a gluten free diet as best as I could, however recently I
found out a couple of things I was eating had cross-contamination issues,
so I know I haven't been completely gluten free. Anyways, I have had this
intermittent pain on my upper right side for the last 2 years. I finally
got an endoscopy yesterday (by a different doctor, because of my HMO), and
afterwards he told me there was no visible signs of my celiac disease,
although the biopsy results will tell him more, (which really suprised me).
However, what concerned me was that he said that he saw an inflamation
where the esophagus connects to the stomach. He thinks it is acid reflux
but he won't have the biopsy results back until next Thursday. Of course
now I am worrying about this inflamation and what it might be and if it
will lead to cancer, etc. etc. Has anyone had a similar experience?? Any
input would be appreciated!
