I was watching a program on mushroom growing today (not exactly riveting 
television, I know, but it came on after Ask This Old House). The mushroom 
grower indicated that many cultivated mushrooms are grown in a mixture of 
organic material, including wheat bran and other similar grains.  I looked online, 
and this seems to be correct. 

Has anyone heard of this? Should I be nervous about eating mushrooms now?
