Dear List:

What's the scoop on MSG for celiacs? I know from various articles
that one shouldn't consume MSG, period, due to the damage it does to the
neurons and brain through the blood-brain barrier. There are additives
which ALWAYS contain MSG, one of them being sodium caseinate, which I'm
finding in a lot of gluten-free foods. I believe USA-made MSG doesn't
contain gluten, but what about MSG (being an excitotoxin) simply causing
problems for people with an autoimmune disease?

    I will summarize the responses.
