I just returned from Ladera Resort in St. Lucia. I was told that a special
diet was no problem and they were right! Upon arrival I showed the waiter
my Celiac Restaurant Card and he gave it to the chef. The chef (Nigel) is
quite famous and has had articles written about his cooking! I was told to
pick out anything from the menu that looked good and Nigel would make
something similar gluten free for me! I was totally amazed and I can tell
you gluten free never tasted so good! The meals were absolutely fantastic
and I had absolutely no problems whatsoever! I have no interest in this
resort, but I had to let all you listmates know how wonderful it was! So,
if you're looking for a wonderful "gluten-free" holiday, Ladera is the
place for you!

We flew to St. Lucia on American Airlines, and I had requested gluten free
meals. They were very good and truely gluten free. On one leg of the trip
however, we only had a snack and unfortunately I was given a granola bar.
I have learned from being on this list that you should never travel without
some food of your own, so fortunately, I was ok. It is always better to
pack a couple of things on your own, just in case!
